In Taufers village at the border of Switzerland the building owner had plans of restoring the historic ruins of Rotund Castle, but the contract of purchase didn’t come about. The Rizzis, being in possession of a real estate with corresponding cubature in St. Martin in Kofel, further ado decided to build a 20th century Castle on 1730 altimeters .

In 1992 the project was valued by the Provincial Office for Protection of Landscape as “accurately planned and succeeded in esthetical respects” .
After seven years , on July 25th 1999 (day of St. Jakob) the “highest situated tower of South Tyrol” was inaugurated by the abbot Bruno Trauner from Monastery Marienberg.
